We took a late 1800's Western Reserve style farmhouse that had been poorly remodeled in the 1960's and modernized it while maintaining much of the original character. We updated all the plumbing, heating and electrical. The kitchen was gutted and totally remodeled. (See our Kitchens projects). On the second floor, we added a full bath and a master bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and skylights. We duplicated the original wide wood trim throughout the whole house and installed new stairs and railings. On the exterior, Pella windows and new siding were installed, the roof and gutters replaced, and new porches were built. Off the back of the house, we built a multi-level deck, built in a hot tub and installed a cedar pergola across the back to break up the sunlight.
