Our intention here was to create an updated gourmet kitchen that was fun to cook in and great for entertaining.

The cabinets were Decora raised panel maple cabinets with a light glaze finish. The granite countertops, backsplashes and snack bar add a nice rich contrast to the warm wood tones. We installed wood ceilings in the kitchen and a taller dinette area to create a classic old world look.

The stain on the wood ceilings was blended to compliment the cabinetry. The transom windows were added over the casements in the dinette to allow for more sunlight to wash the area.

The lighting plan employed the creative use of standard can lights, under cabinet halogen lighting and strategically placed pendant fixtures all with dimmer controls to maintain desired ambiance.

The stone looking ceramic tile floors were continued into the back entrance hall to pull the three spaces together.
