Objective Convert the basement into a unique adult entertainment space that would meet or exceed the quality of the rest of the home and create a play area for their children and a guest room for out of town family members.

Project Overview

• The focal point of the basement entertaining area is a custom redwood wine room that holds 800 bottles

• The space sports a full kitchenette / bar area with maple cabinets and granite tops, complete with ice- maker, dishwasher, cook-top, refrigerator, and microwave.

• Opposite the bar is a large plasma TV, completing the home theatre atmosphere.

• There is also an area for a pool table.

• We created a kids play area behind a short wall so the kids and parents can keep an eye on each other.

• Off the play area is ample closet space for toy storage, a full bath, and a study that doubles as a guest room when out-of-town visitors arrive.

• We used a mixture of recessed can lights, low-voltage “puck lights” and decorative lighting to give the bar area the feel of a Tuscany pub
